About Us
The APALI Youth Leadership Summit was founded by a collective of community activists, educators, counselors, and professionals with histories and shared experiences within the communities of East San Jose. Our group found inspiration in our shared experiences while attending a six-week leadership program at De Anza College known as the APALI Youth Leadership Academy, which fosters cultural identities, political awareness, and civic engagement. Believing in the power of our communities, we returned to East San Jose with the Youth Leadership Summit to serve our roots, our homes, and neighborhoods.
